Open Air Evangelism
For anyone who would like to come and here what the good news about
Jesus is about.
-
VENUE: Charter Place, Watford
-
TIME: Saturdays, 3pm to 4:30pm
- WHAT DO WE DO DURING OPEN AIR EVNAGELISM? A group of us go into Charter
Place, in Watford town centre, to preach and give out Christian tracts
and leaflets. Generally, several people take it in turns to stand up and give a message, while the others are available to talk to people who are interested and hand out tracts to passers by. If you are a Christian and want to help, feel free to get in touch. If you aren't a Christian come along and hear what God has to say to us all.

Door To Door Evangelism
For Church members to get out into the community.
-
VENUE: Watford Streets, particularly around the Church.
-
TIME: Not Specific, all year round.
- WHAT HAPPENS DURING DOOR TO DOOR WORK? As followers of Christ his
love compels us (2 Corinthians 5 v 14) to spread the gospel everywhere we can.
We go out generally in pairs introducing ourselves on doorsteps to anyone
who is in and seeing if they have time to chat about spiritual things.
The aim is to explain the gospel to them and challenge their beliefs and,
by God's will, bring them into the living church. If people are not in
then we drop a tract and/or a leaflet through the door.
-
NOTES: This is generally confined to church members only.

Leafleting
For advertising church events and presenting the gospel to people.
-
VENUE: Watford
-
TIME: All year round (periodically).
- WHAT IS THE POINT OF LEAFLETING? When going door to door we drop small easy to read tracts through doors where there is no answer, and hand more detailed ones to people who show an interest in the gospel. This gives people a better chance to mull over the conversation and allows them to see some of the other
issues involved, and provides an initial contact and alerts people to our presence when they are pushed through doors. Leaflets are also distributed to advertise church events like Harvest and Nativity. Some people often
enjoy coming to these events which provides an opportunity to make contacts outside the church and develop gospel opportunities (For similar reasons leaflets and tracts are given out during the open air work).

Christianity Explored
For anyone who would like to learn more about Christianity or learn/brush up on the basics.
-
VENUE: Please contact us for more information about where the next course is being held or when you might be able to attend one.
-
TIME: The next session of the current course is on Saturday (10th October 2009) at 8.00p.m.
- WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED COURSE? The course is run in an informal setting, for a small group, and focuses on the book of Mark (in The Bible) with its emphasis on who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him. Each week, after briefly discussing the material from the week before, there is a talk or DVD on the theme for that particular week, after which the group can discuss any questions that arise specifically from that or any other questions people may have.
-
NOTES: If you are interested in attending this course, would simply like some more information about what is involved and/or where it will be held, please contact us by email at info@drbchurch.org.uk or, if you prefer, you could come to one of our Sunday Services and ask for more information then.
