For anyone who wants to learn more about God and pray particularly for
issues involving the church, both at Derby Road and across the world.
VENUE: DRBC - Church Hall
TIME: Most Tuesdays 7:30pm (arrive 7:25pm)
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE PRAYER MEETING AND BIBLE STUDY? We meet together to study
the Bible and pray. The emphasis of this meeting is on prayer fuelled by scripture. We pray for diverse issues and on occasions have visitors to explain about projects they are working on so we can then join in pray specifically for this part of God's work. Prayer is vital activity for all Christians, both solitary and corporate. We seek here to pray in God's will and ask for his strength and action. We rely on His working and so prayer is the right response to a God who is: in control of all things, and; able to do much more than we ask or imagine.
NOTES: Some Tuesdays are taken up with official church business meetings, only Church Members may attend these meetings because they involve specific church policy and business only. On other rare Tuesdays no meeting is held at Derby Road because the church is encouraged to go to a different meeting in the week with other likeminded churches in the region, or possibly some other reason.
For anyone who would like to join us in asking God to work and move
in this world.
VENUE: Various homes
TIME: First Monday of the Month; 8pm.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE MONTHLY HOUSE PRAYER MEETING? We meet to pray for the needs of others, personal and church items. We start with a short bible reading then spend most of our time praying. We write down the things prayed about so we can thank and praise God as he answers us.
For anyone who would like to learn more about Christianity or learn/brush up on the basics.
VENUE/TIME: The last course ran between February and April 2008. Details of when and where the next scheduled course will take place will appear here.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED COURSE? The course is run in an informal setting, for a small group, and focuses on the book of Mark (in The Bible) with its emphasis on who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him. Each week, after briefly discussing the material from the week before, there is a talk or DVD on the theme for that particular week, after which the group can discuss any questions that arise specifically from that or any other questions people may have.
NOTES: If you are interested in attending this course, would simply like some more information about what is involved and/or where it will be held, please contact us by email at info@drbchurch.org.uk or, if you prefer, you could come to one of our Sunday Services and ask for more information then.
For any woman able to make it to an afternoon meeting.

Mainly, however, when we meet we have a speaker, and we learn to share together what it means to praise and love the God who already loves us. All the things that come from that we can learn together.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE WAY FOR WOMEN? Whilst providing an opportunity to get to know each other better socially, in each others' homes, the primary aim of The Way For Women is to provide an opportunity for prayer and the study of God's Word together. By doing this we hope to help each other develop spiritually, individually and as a group. Following a more structured Bible study there is also a chance to share testimony of how what has been learnt has helped shape each others' lives; this serves to further encourage, and challenge, us and prompts further discussion of ways in which we can put what the Bible teaches into practice.
